Safe In The Shepherd's Arms

Thank you all for your kind words and support. Luckily, the wolf did not hit my house, but he got my dearest friend, Martha, the calico cat. Thank goodness though that she is still alive, but is very sick and has been lying in bed with a cold cloth accross her head and cloths wrapped up and down her bruised and cut legs from Wolf's fierce attack. Her 2 kittens, David and Belle, are terribly worried. But I've assured them both that she will be alright. Every day I come visit Martha and pray by her bed, and then David and Belle and I all go out and fix Martha a delicious meal! Daisy the cow has been kind enough to loan almost all of her milk to us to help Martha. I am not worried about Martha, however, something tells me that she's gonna be alright. Oh but all the horrible things that have happened because of Wolf. It's been horrible over here.

Stay safe my darlings,

Stay safe...

Well right now I am busy in the kitchen, as usual. I have to prepare some tomato sauce, we're having spaghetti for supper tonight. The kittens have just gotten back from the meadow with the fresh water from the well, but they heard that Wolf is coming around our little town. I've instructed my kittens to stay inside the house now, and just do a little dusting and polishing. I'd help, but I've messed up tomato sauce too many times before, by overcooking it or adding to much of one ingredient. I must focus!!! Anyway, I am terribly frightened to hear of Wolf coming here. I have burned out the fire and closed the curtains and locked the doors. It's very dark and silent, and though I stand in the corner cooking, my little ones stay huddled with their dust and polishing rags in a little corner behind the coat-rack. Charles, my husband, the kittens' father, had to leave for war years ago, and has never returned. I wish he was here now, for I have no way to defend myself except for my claws and teeth. Any kittens out there who can hear my cry for help, please come to me. Thank you....

Since me and Heather decided on the names early, I am going home
early too! It was so fun visiting Heather, I hope to see her again
soon. But nevertheless, it's great to be back home with my darling
little kittens!!! We just got finished making oatmeal raisin cookies
together. Silly things, Sandra and Jessica were stirring the dough
with a big wooden spoon, and started getting it all over the kitchen!!! Oh but it was easy to clean up, I helped them practice by
holding onto their little paws and showing them the
motion to do when
stirring dough. I
think they learned pretty well. Then,
Melissa and I added in raisins and oatmeal as Sandra and Jessica buisily stirred, and then together as a family we all cut out fun shapes with my
cookie cutters. There is no place like home, that's for sure....

Today I walked all the way to the edge of the wood to go and visit my friend, Heather, she's a hen that lives in the barn not too far from here. It was so nice to see her, it's been a few years since I've visited that ol' place! As it turns out she was hatching her baby chickens right when I had arrived, she had 7. After I got to chat with her for a while, I went back home to get Bandit to watch over the kittens. Bandit is a girl raccoon that lives right next to me in a little pale blue cottage!!! Then, I turned right back around to see Heather. I'm going to be staying over there for 4 days helping Heather choose names for the new chicks. Oh how I miss my kittens dearly, I know they miss me too. But I've mailed them a letter telling them that the minute I get back home we will bake cookies with oatmeal and raisins!!!

Oh, and a word from Heather:
HELLO, SQUAWK!!! MY CHICKS HATCHED, SQUAWK!
ANY IDEAS ON NAMES, SQUAWK???!!!

Well today has been very bright and sunny and cheerful! Don't you
just love summer weather? Today, my kittens and I went to church.
They used to be too young to understand such things as religion, but
now they are older, and I can take them to church. This Sunday they will be starting Sunday school, I'm sure they
will love it! But I
must get busy on sewing them dresses for their big day as well.
Anyway, they absolutely loved church!
They sang bible songs all the way home, and I caught them all in Melissa's bedroom with our big bible looking at the colorful pictures last night!
They should have been asleep, but I didn't complain. How could I when they are looking at the bible?
It's a wonderful thing to do before you go to sleep, in my opinion.
Ah, things sure have been going great around here.
Good day, my feline friends!!!

Oh, and here is a picture of my cottage!
